Damien Hirst
Damien Hirst, born in Bristol in 1965, became world famous with provocative works such as his formaldehyde-preserved animals. His art explores themes such as mortality and transience, often crossing the boundaries of the familiar. He first gained attention in 1988 with the exhibition "Freeze" and quickly established himself as a central figure of the Young British Artists. With iconic works such as the Diamond Skull, Hirst continues to shape the modern art scene to this day.
