Karl H Dennig
The artist lives and works in Berlin.
Karl Dennig's color palette is always elegant and aesthetic. Whether pastel-ethereal and transparent in yellow or rosé, heavy and melancholic in the deep blue tones or vital and optimistic in bright red. His images are dense fabrics, overlays of galaxies, sgraffito of loosely or precisely silhouetted plant forms, leaves, shells, four-legged friends , of feathers, fish, birds, fossils and more rarely of somnambulistic human figures: symbolic abbreviations of his powerful world of experience. Dennig is an outstanding draftsman – complex, encapsulated, introverted, his vignette-like, rhythmic “developments” underpin the captivating, seemingly playful lightness of his pictures. Dennig, the all-rounder, also designs furniture, such as tables or throne-like armchairs made of forged iron, as well as carpets made of silk and wool.
