Born 1963
Cesare Viola
Cesare Viola was born in Catania, Sicily, in 1963 and grew up at the foot of Mount Etna. From an early age, he developed an interest in art, natural forms, and anatomy.
In the 1980s he lived in London and Cologne, where he refined his technique and began to develop his own style – influenced by Michelangelo, Dalí and HR Giger.
At the age of 30, he created his first sculptures. His early works were created at night in a former shelter in Lugano. Later, he opened his studio and increasingly worked with bronze, which became his preferred material.
Viola's works have been exhibited internationally and are part of private collections in Switzerland, Italy, and Russia. Today, he lives and works in Switzerland and teaches art. His works are the result of careful observation—often inspired by the structures and forms of nature.
