Alfredo Battistini
Alfredo Battistini, born in Uznach in 1953, created powerful bronze sculptures that show the strength and fragility of human beings. After a serious car accident in 1979 that left him paralyzed, he made his mark in both art and sport: he became world champion in bench press five times. Battistini died in 2008, but his works, including a sculpture in honor of Michelangelo, live on and testify to his unshakable will and talent.
