Rolf Ziegler

For Rolf Ziegler, the focus is always on people. However, it hardly ever appears directly in the work, but in different transformations: more aura than appearance. The focus of his work: pictures, sculptures, objects and art in architecture. With abstraction the artist found himself and his unmistakable style. What is typical for him is that most of his works look like collages, even assemblages, but this material effect is achieved using painterly means. With such sophisticated trompe l'oeil effects, the self-taught Rolf Ziegler also demonstrates his confident mastery of the craft, which he has developed himself. But there is more to it. They are also an invitation to look carefully and patiently, not being satisfied with the first fleeting moment. Art demands a different concept of time and encourages us to get to the bottom of reality instead of just being blinded by beautiful appearances.
